SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake man was charged Thursday with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
A $500,00 arrest warrant was issued for Mario Angel Ocampo, 24, on charges of rape, a first-degree felony, and forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony. The charges were filed in 3rd District Court.
In June, the teen “met up” with Ocampo, who then “grabbed her and led her to his apartment,” according to charging documents. He then began kissing her on a bed, and the girl “‘struggled’ to resist” what he was doing, but was unable and was sexually assaulted, the charges state.
The new charge comes less than two months after Ocampo was convicted in 5th District Court in Washington County for drug distribution and drug possession, according to court records. He was sentenced to 20 days in jail and placed on three years of probation.
