SANDY — A couple’s alleged robbery spree turned out not to be very fruitful in the end after they were arrested by police.

Chad Edward Lenz, 32, and his wife, Ashley Pust, 35, both of Salt Lake City, were arrested Tuesday for investigation of four counts each of aggravated robbery.

According to police, the couple was targeting fruit stands in the Salt Lake Valley, including one in Sandy they allegedly robbed three times.

On Aug. 8, a fruit stand at 10600 South 1300 East was robbed.

On Aug. 16, a fruit stand at 5590 South 900 South was robbed.

On Aug. 19, the fruit stand on 10600 was robbed again.

On Tuesday, the fruit stand at 10600 was robbed for a third time.

In each case, Pust waited in the car as Lenz approached the fruit stand workers, told them he had a gun and took their cash, according to a Salt Lake County Jail report. In at least two of the robberies, Lenz threatened to shoot the employees, the report states.

After allegedly robbing the fruit stand on Tuesday, a witness followed the couple and called police who were able to stop the vehicle, the report states.
