THE RACETRACK β€” While the glory days of horse racing may be behind us, there are still plenty of reasons to spend a day at your local track.

And here's the best one of all: If you're lucky, you might see some corgis get in on the action.

Emerald Downs is a thoroughbred track in Auburn, Washington, but this past weekend, a different kind of quadruped was featured between the main events.

According to BuzzFeed News, six heats of corgis competed for a trip to the finals in front of 10,000 fans.

The puppers competed by running down the home stretch of the track. In the end, it was 3-year-old Angus Phan who won the day with a speedy zoom to the finish line, where he accepted a victory treat. Good boy, Angus!

Hopefully, Noodle McFluffins, Porter McGhee, Bruce Corgsteen and Mr. Beanz Sir Wigglebutt will be coming soon to a horse track near you.
