WOODLAND HILLS, Utah County — A 26-year-old man who died Tuesday in a head-on crash with a tar tanker was identified by authorities Wednesday.

Kyle Eiji Jackson was southbound on Woodland Hills Drive when it appears he drifted into northbound traffic near 11000 South and crashed into a small commercial tanker, Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon said via Twitter.

Jackson wasn’t wearing a seat belt and died on scene, Cannon said. He said the tanker’s driver wasn’t injured in the crash. Authorities originally said Jackson was 26, then later said he was 21. Cannon confirmed Jackson was 26.

There was no evidence of impairment, Cannon said. It appeared Jackson died on impact, he added.

The Utah County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash, Cannon said.
