TIGNES, France (AP) — A violent hailstorm threw the Tour de France into chaos today, forcing organizers to cut short a nail-biting stage in the high Alps. Unable to reach the planned finish, organizers decided that riders' placings would instead be based on their time at the top of the highest mountain pass of this Tour. As a result, French rider Julian Alaphilippe (ah-lah-fee-LIHP’) lost the yellow jersey to Colombia’s Egan Bernal. The race ends Sunday in Paris.
