MAGNA — Four eastbound lanes of state Route 201 have reopened after a closure at 8400 West due to a crash, authorities said Friday.
A semitrailer hauling gravel rolled over on the roadway and spilled some of its load, according to Utah Highway Patrol trooper Tara Wahlberg. She said the driver of the semitruck was driving near 8400 West, took the turn onto eastbound S.R. 201 too sharply, and flipped his rig.
All eastbound lanes on S.R. 201 were closed for several hours while Utah Department of Transportation crews clean the gravel off the road, Wahlberg said. Commuters were asked to seek an alternate route, according to UDOT's website.
UDOT traffic cameras showed that the road had been cleared and reopened as of 7:45 p.m. on Friday evening.
The driver suffered minor injuries and will recover, Wahlberg said.
