(AP) — Spencer Schwellenbach had three hits and drove in three runs, and Robbie Palkert threw 5 1-3 innings of strong relief as Nebraska advanced to the Big Ten Tournament championship game with a 7-3 win over Michigan on Saturday night. The fifth-seeded Cornhuskers bounced back from an 18-8 loss to the second-seeded Wolverines earlier in the day to reach the title game Sunday for the first time since 2014.
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Minnesota's rematch with Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament has been postponed until Sunday because of the conference's curfew and the threat of inclement weather. The Gophers beat the Buckeyes 9-6 to force a second game. The winner will play Nebraska in the championship game later Sunday.
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Eli Wilson had two hits and drove in two runs, helping Minnesota eliminate Iowa in the Big Ten tournament with a 3-0 victory. Wilson had an RBI single in the third inning and an RBI double in the ninth for the fourth-seeded Gophers, who advanced to meet seventh-seeded Ohio State in the semifinals. Jordan Kozicky added an RBI single in the ninth and Brett Schulze struck out Chris Whelan to end the game with runners at second and third at 12:49 local time to cap a long day at TD Ameritrade Park.
