FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Brooks Koepka (KEHP'-kuh) has won three of the last seven majors, and could well be on his way to a fourth. He heads into the third round of the PGA Championship with a seven-shot lead over Jordan Spieth and Adam Scott. That’s the largest lead by anyone at the halfway point of a Grand Slam event in 85 years. Koepka has been alone in the lead since his 12-foot birdie putt on his 12th hole of the opening round. He has made only two bogeys all week at Bethpage Black.

BALTIMORE (AP) _ Improbable remains the favorite to win the Preakness. The horse trained by Bob Baffert Improbable is 3-1 to win the second jewel of the Triple Crown after being installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite. War of Will, who was initially the second choice in wagering at 4-1, was 6-1 in late morning. Bourbon War, who didn't run in the Derby, has been bet down from 12-1 to 9-2.

CINCINNATI (AP) _ The Dodgers expect to be without Justin Turner today after the slugger fouled a ball off his left shin last night in Cincinnati. X-rays were negative. Walker Buehler starts for the Dodgers as they go for their fifth straight win. Tyler Mahle gets the ball for the Reds.

KOSICE, Slovakia (AP) — The U.S. team has won its fourth straight victory during preliminary play at the world hockey championships in Slovakia. The Americans routed Denmark today, 7-1. Jeff Blashill became the winningest U.S. coach in world championship history in the top division with his 18th career victory in 23 games.

ROME (AP) — Rafael Nadal has reached the Italian Open final with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Stefanos Tsitsipas. It was a measure of revenge for Nadal after losing to Tsitsipas in three sets at this stage in Madrid last week. Nadal had lost in the semifinals of three straight clay-court tournaments. He’s seeking a record-extending 12th title at the French Open, which starts next weekend.
