UNDATED (AP) — This season's Orange Bowl is being moved to Dec. 30, with a prime-time kickoff, after originally being scheduled for New Year's Day afternoon. The Orange Bowl has been traditionally played at night, but the earlier kickoff was initially planned when it became part of the six-bowl rotation that hosts the College Football Playoff.

UNDATED (AP) — The Florida State baseball team has never missed the NCAA Tournament under Mike Martin. Entering the last week of the regular season in his 40th and final year the Seminoles are far from a lock to make the 64-team tournament. Florida State plays at Atlantic Coast Conference leading Louisville this week and probably needs to win the series and make a push in the league tournament to be in position for an at-large bid. Martin has 2,021 career wins. That's the most of any NCAA coach in any sport.

NEW YORK (AP) — Bobby Cremins, Verne Lundquist and Chris Dailey will be this year's recipients of the Joe Lapchick Character Award. Cremins helped build Georgia Tech into a national power and led the Yellow Jackets to the Final Four in 1990. Lundquist is a longtime announcer at CBS who called the NCAA Tournament for 33 years. Dailey is a longtime assistant coach for the UConn women's team under Geno Auriemma.
