SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities are searching for a Saratoga Springs man suspected of shooting a man over a business dispute. Saratoga Springs police were searching Monday morning for 36-year-old Ryan Holladay. Investigators say Holladay got into a business disagreement Sunday night with another man in Bluffdale. The victim is in stable condition.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Prosecutors say a West Valley City man has been sentenced to more than six years in federal prison for robbing banks in Ogden and North Salt Lake. They say 42-year-old Sean Thomas Moore pleaded guilty in February to one count of bank robbery by force or violence. In return for his plea, one count of the same charge was dropped. Moore was sentenced to serve 77 months in prison. The court recommended Moore serve his prison time at the U.S. Penitentiary in Tucson, Arizona.
OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Wildlife officials have released into a northern Utah reservoir thousands of tiger muskie fish, a hybrid predator that's popular with anglers and helps keep other species in check. The Standard Examiner in Ogden reports Utah Division of Wildlife Resources released 28,000 of the fish at Pineview Reservoir on May 2. Assistant aquatic program manager Cody Edwards says less than 10% of the fish will make it to adulthood.
UNDATED (AP) — Some states are taking steps to ensure patients give explicit approval before receiving a pelvic exam under anesthesia. Many teaching hospitals say they already require a patient's consent before giving a pelvic exam under anesthesia, but medical students say the consent is not always clear. The states seek to ensure that doctors get explicit approval from patients before students are allowed to perform the exams during gynecological surgery.
