HOOPER — A Weber County man faces assault charges after he allegedly held a knife to another man’s throat while arguing with him about steaks on a grill.
Brandon Todd Fielding, 37, was arrested late Saturday night, according to an arrest report. He was charged Monday with aggravated assault, a third-degree felony, and misdemeanor criminal mischief in Second District Court in Weber County, court documents show.
A Weber County sheriff’s deputy responded to a fight in Hooper on Saturday, according to an arrest report. A witness there told the deputy that Fielding was involved in an argument with another man over who had cut some steaks that were on a grill, the report states.
“During their verbal altercation, (Fielding) pulled out his knife and held it to (the other man’s) throat telling him to answer his question about the steaks,” the report says.
Other people had to separate the two men. Fielding then went outside to get a pitchfork and used it to break the windshield and driver’s side window of the other man’s truck, according to the report.
Everyone at the scene, including Fielding, had been drinking at the time, according to the report.
Fielding was booked into the Weber County jail early Sunday morning, according to the arrest report. His bond was posted on Tuesday and he was no longer in jail as of Tuesday afternoon, jail records show.
Fielding’s initial court appearance is scheduled for April 10.
