OGDEN — Police are investigating after a man in his late 20s who was found unconscious Saturday evening died Sunday, officials report.
Ogden police responded to the 2200 block of Monroe Boulevard shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday and found a man who was “unconscious and in need of medical attention,” according to Ogden Police Lt. Tyler Ziegler.
The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries. Police believe the man was in some sort of physical altercation and died from injuries he sustained during the altercation, Ziegler said.
Further details about the man’s injuries were not immediately available but police confirmed a firearm was not used.
Officials did not release the man’s name pending family notification.
The man’s death is currently under investigation, but police believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the public, Ziegler said.
Officials have identified a person of interest, though no arrests had been made Sunday evening.
