Carvacho powers Colorado State to 85-53 romp over Air Force

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Nico Carvacho scored 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting and grabbed 14 rebounds for his 14th double-double of the season and Colorado State beat Air Force 85-53 on Saturday.

Reserve Anthony Masinton-Bonner hit 6 of 7 shots and scored 16, while Kris Martin and J.D. Paige scored 10 apiece for CSU (9-13, 4-5 Mountain West Conference), which hosts No. 8 Nevada on Wednesday.

Martin, Paige and Masinton-Bonner all had eight points in the first half as the Rams shot 63 percent from the floor and sank 6 of 10 from 3-point range to take a commanding 42-25 lead into intermission. Colorado State pushed its lead to 20 just three minutes into the second half and led 68-36 after Carvacho's 3-point play with 9:44 left in the game.

A.J. Walker had 14 points for the Falcons (9-13, 4-6). Air Force shot just 33 percent from the floor and made just 8 of 29 from distance (28 percent).
