EDEN, Utah (AP) — An 8-year-old boy apparently escaped serious injuries when he fell roughly 33 feet (10 meters) off a ski lift in northern Utah.

The Standard-Examiner reports that Weber Fire District Capt. John Wood said the boy walked away with only cuts and bruises after falling from a lift Friday at Nordic Valley Ski Resort in Eden, which is 38 miles (60 kilometers) north of Salt Lake City.

Wood said the child's parents were told by paramedics to take the boy to a hospital to be checked out as a precaution he did not appear to have any serious injuries.
