SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police have arrested a third man in connection with a November fight and shooting at Scallywags Bar that left two people injured.

U.S. Marshals arrested Pelenise Taouma, 22, on Thursday in San Francisco, according to South Salt Lake police executive officer Gary Keller. Taouma is being held there on a parole violation, Keller said.

Taouma has not been formally charged in connection to the Nov. 11 altercation at Scallywags, but his arrest is in relation to that, Keller said.

The shooting at Scallywags, 3040 S. State, took place about 1 a.m. Nov. 11, according to police. A fight started inside the bar but moved outside to a parking lot.

At least 19 rounds were fired in the ensuing altercation, according to police. A woman who was shot three times was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Another man, who was not shot but was injured in the fight, was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

The woman was expected to survive, police previously told KSL.

Stephano Tuisila, 22, and Falefatu Fatiau, 27, were previously arrested in connection to the shooting, police said.

Taouma has not yet returned to Utah, Keller said Friday. The case will be screened by the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office, he added.

The bar closed after the shooting, an employee previously confirmed to KSL.
