RIVERTON — A woman was injured after a multi-vehicle crash on southbound Bangerter Highway in Riverton Thursday afternoon, officials said.

A semitruck traveling north on Bangerter ran a red light and crashed into the woman's vehicle while she was waiting to turn left onto the highway from westbound 13400 South, according to Unified Police Sgt. Melody Gray. The impact from the semitruck pushed her into another vehicle in front of her.

Police responded to the crash about noon and initially said the woman was in critical condition. Once she arrived at the hospital, medical personnel said she suffered only a dislocated shoulder, Gray said.

"We're always happy when someone gets better," Gray said.

The intersection was closed in all directions for about three hours but reopened about 3 p.m., according to traffic cameras.
