SALT LAKE CITY — A man died after being hit by a TRAX train in Salt Lake City Sunday night, officials said.
The 25-year-old man was walking on the tracks near 2400 West and North Temple about 9:45 p.m. when he was struck and killed by a westbound Green Line TRAX train, according to Utah Transit Authority spokesman Carl Arky.
The area where the man was hit is very dark, and officials aren't sure why the man was walking on the tracks, Arky said.
Investigators are contacting the man's family and hoping to determine his state of mind. His name has not yet been released.
The greenline has since reopened.
