SALT LAKE CITY — A new fire ignited in Sanpete County Monday afternoon. The Hill Top Fire has burned roughly 1,000 acres and forced the evacuation of more than 100 homes, state fire officials say.
Hot afternoon winds also caused the Coal Hollow Fire, in Utah County, to grow nearly 1,000 acres in one day, according to an emailed statement from the Manti-La Sal National Forest Service.
Crews continued to battle wildfires across the state Monday.
