Police: Woman dies after car crashes into pole in Provo

PROVO — A woman died after the vehicle she was driving struck a power pole early Monday morning, police said.

Emergency crews responded to a report of a crash in the 2300 block of South State Street shortly before 4:45 a.m., according to social media post from the Provo Police Department.

Provo police wrote that a passenger car driven by Rachel Anderson, 47, crossed into the oncoming traffic lane and struck the pole.

Anderson was taken to a hospital but died from her injuries, police said.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation Monday afternoon.
