SALT LAKE CITY — The body of a man found just off I-215 Saturday was most likely the victim of an auto-pedestrian crash according to an autopsy, police said.
A worker found the man's body in a construction zone off I-215 close to 2100 North near Davis County about 8:45 a.m., according to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Evan Kirby. The man's body was hidden by weeds, and investigators believe it may have been there between one and three weeks.
Investigators are still trying to determine the man's name, which has proven difficult because the body was found in an advanced state of decomposition, Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Todd Royce said.
The State Bureau of Investigation is asking for the public's help to find the vehicle that may have hit the man. Police are searching for a vehicle that may have damage in the right front corner and a possibly broken headlight.
Anyone with information can call Utah Highway Patrol dispatch at 801-887-3800.
