CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Johnny Manziel is behind Jeremiah Masoli on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats' depth chart — and has his back, too.

"We're all behind Jeremiah, starting tomorrow," Manziel said Friday, a day before Hamilton's regular-season opener against the Calgary Stampeders. "More than anything, I want a win for this team. It's more than me. It's more than just one individual. It's a team effort and it takes everybody we have on this roster to go out and win games."

Manziel was 21 of 32 for 168 yards and a touchdown in two exhibition games for the Canadian Football League team. The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner at Texas A&M is making a comeback after being released by the Cleveland Browns in March 2016.

"We'll see how things go," Manziel said. "Any backup or anybody on our depth chart is one play, two plays away from getting in the game. That's something I've learned over the course of the years and take very seriously.
