AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Matt Lloyd capped a nine-run first inning with a three-run homer and coaxed a game-ending double play for the save, helping Indiana hold on to beat Texas A&M 9-7 in an NCAA regional elimination game Sunday.

The Aggies (40-22) had the potential tying run on base with one out in the ninth when Allonte Wingate grounded sharply to second base. Justin Walker started the double play to eliminate the Aggies a year after they reached the College World Series.

The Hoosiers (40-18) advanced to the regional final later Sunday, needing two wins over Austin Regional host Texas to reach a Super Regional.

Texas A&M brought the potential tying run to the plate for the first time with two outs in the eighth. Michael Helman grounded into a fielder's choice against Lloyd, who got four outs for his sixth save.

Scotty Bradley hit a two-run homer in Indiana's big first inning after three straight RBI singles from Luke Miller, Matt Gorski and Logan Sowers.

Chris Andritsos had two hits and three RBIs for the Aggies, who had two runners on with one out after Will Frizzell's run-scoring single in the ninth.

The only out recorded by Texas A&M starter Kaylor Chafin (5-1) was Ryan Fineman's sacrifice fly. Chafin gave up six runs on five hits.

Indiana reliever Tim Herrin (6-0) allowed four hits and a run in three innings.
