EDEN, Weber County — Authorities Tuesday identified a 19-year-old man who died after the side-by-side he was driving rolled Saturday.

Weber County sheriff's officials said Jaden Parent, of Ogden, died from internal injuries suffered in the crash.

Parent was driving the UTV with his 18-year-old brother when he lost control of the vehicle and was ejected, Weber County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chad Allen said on Sunday.

Allen said the vehicle rolled on top of Parent.

The crash occurred in a private area along the middle fork of the Ogden River northeast of Pineview Reservoir shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, Allen said. The two men then made it back to their campground after the crash.

Parent was then taken to a hospital in a private vehicle but went unconscious en route to the hospital, and the family called for emergency assistance. A medical helicopter was dispatched to the area and paramedics worked on the man for about 50 minutes but he was pronounced dead, Allen said.

The 18-year-old brother was not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation. Allen said he didn't know if Parent was wearing a seat belt or a helmet at the time of the crash. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash.
