UCON, Idaho — An Ogden man died in a crash in eastern Idaho on Wednesday afternoon.

About 1:36 p.m., John Hodges, 51, was driving west in a 2017 Freightliner near mile marker 315 on U.S. Highway 20 when he hit the guardrail on the right shoulder, according to an emailed statement from Idaho State Police officials.

The truck came to rest on the overpass after the crash, officials said.

Hodges was taken by ambulance to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, officials said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Hodges was wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
