SALT LAKE CITY — A crash on I-80 westbound in Salt Lake City killed a woman and closed the freeway overnight.

The woman is identified as Annastasia Seufale, 30, of West Valley City.

A Ford Expedition driven by Seufale was westbound on the freeway at 700 East about 11:50 p.m. Monday when it veered to the left and hit a concrete barrier, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

Seufale was not wearing her seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. She was the only person in the vehicle and died on the scene from her injuries.

Another vehicle hit debris from the Expedition. No one in that vehicle was injured.

The freeway reopened about 5 a.m.

Editor's note: Utah Highway Patrol initially identified the deceased as a male but then stated that was in error. The driver was female.
