CEDAR CITY — A suspicious package left in front of the Cedar City Walmart forced evacuations Monday morning but was later determined not to be a threat, police said.
A man with a very sensitive skin condition dropped the package off wearing gloves and using tongs so he didn't burn his skin with a solvent on the package, said Cedar City Chief of Police Darin Adams.
Officers received reports of the package left at 1330 S. Providence Center Dr. and responded shortly before noon, Cedar City police said in a Facebook post.
The Walmart was evacuated as a precaution, police said. It has since reopened.
