LAYTON — Police are searching for a man they say walked into a bank, brandished a handgun and demanded money before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash Tuesday morning.

Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a KeyBank, located 999 N. Hill Field Road, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Layton Police Lt. Travis Lyman said.

“The tellers complied and the (man) immediately left after receiving the money,” he said.

Lyman said the man fled in an older model Honda Civic with faded black paint, and officers believe he began traveling southbound on I-15. Witnesses told police the vehicle didn’t have any hubcaps.

The man is described as white with a reddish-colored full beard, wearing a gray hoodie, tan pants, a hat and glasses.

Lyman said anyone who may have any information about the man or the vehicle should call Layton police at 801-497-8300.
