Sandra Yi ReportingA Tooele man confesses to murder during a 9-1-1 call to police. He told officers he had stabbed his girlfriend while her children slept in another room. It happened Wednesday morning. The Tooele County Sheriff's Office released copies of the 9-1-1 tape today.

The caller, Johnny Bevan, said he wanted to report a murder. Then he made this chilling confession.

911 Call: "I killed her." "You killed who? "My girlfriend." "How you do it?" "Stabbed." "When you do that?" "A couple of hours ago." Are you still there?" "Yeah, I tried to stab myself." "Are you there now?" "Yeah." "And you sure she's dead?" "Yeah."

Bevan made that call after 8 o'clock Wednesday morning. He told the dispatcher he stabbed his girlfriend, Tina Evans, in their Stansbury Park home. When police got to the home, they found Evans' body in the master bedroom and say that she had been dead for several hours.

On the phone with 9-1-1, Bevan sounds lethargic and mumbles a lot. He said he had taken some medication the night before and that morning. He also told the dispatcher he wanted to die.

911 Call: "I'm in bad shape myself. I do intend to attack an officer so I can be shot. I need to die as well."

Police say the victim's three children, ages 8 ,16 and 17, were downstairs sleeping when their mother was killed. The eight-year old told deputies, around 2 o'clock in the morning, he heard his mother scream. He said he went to her door to check on her, but no one answered so he went back to sleep.

Bevan was taken to the hospital with some superficial, self-inflicted wounds to his chest and abdomen. He's still in the hospital and will be booked into jail when he's released. The Tooele County Sheriff says he has no criminal history and they've never been called to the home before.

The victim's children are staying with relatives.
