CLINTON — Water was restored for Clinton residents after a water main break affected service on Sunday morning, police said.

The break took place near 2300 W. 2500 North and was affecting water service throughout the entire city, Clinton City Police Department officials said on Facebook. Fire department officials first reported the break at about 8:45 a.m.

Water was restored and was safe to drink for all city residents by about 12:15 p.m., Clinton police officials said on Facebook.

Police said dispatchers fielded a large number of calls Sunday about the break.
