AMERICAN FORK — Police located a 69-year-old woman who has been missing since Wednesday morning.

Luz Del Carmen Almeida, who goes by Carmen, was last heard from on Wednesday morning when family members talked to her over the phone, American Fork Police Lt. Cameron Paul said in a statement.

Weber County Sheriff's Office personnel found Almeida just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Washington Terrace, Paul said.

She was disoriented when found, but was safe, Paul said. Almeida had been considered endangered, he said.

Family members arrived at Almeida’s home just after the phone call, but she had left with her vehicle, Paul said.

Family members told police that Almeida likes to shop at discount clothing stores and malls such as Deseret Industries and Ross Dress for Less. They also told police that Almeida has Alzheimer's and her leaving for a long amount of time is very unusual.
