HOLLADAY — A crash between a truck pulling a utility trailer and a semitruck closed all lanes of I-215 eastbound between 2000 East for about an hour Tuesday, Utah Highway Patrol officials said.

Emergency crews responded to a report of a crash near 2300 East on the freeway before noon, according to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce. He said the truck pulling the utility trailer was moving slowly in traffic and was rear-ended by the semitruck.

The collision knocked out a four-by-four slab of concrete onto the freeway, Royce said.

Vehicles were being forced to exit the freeway at 2000 East while the crash was being cleaned up, according to Utah Department of Transportation officials. Along with cleaning up debris, crews also had to clean up fuel and radiator fluid from the semitruck.

UDOT cameras showed traffic bottled up by the crash site after the wreck, but vehicles were then turned around and moved in the opposite direction to get away from the crash.

Two lanes of traffic were reopened shortly after 12:45 p.m. All lanes of the freeway were reopened shortly after.

Minor injuries were reported in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
