SOUTH JORDAN — A sinkhole closed southbound Beckstead Lane from 10400 South for most of the day Monday.

The problem was first reported by South Jordan city officials shortly after 11 a.m. Through social media, city leaders urged commuters to find alternate routes as road crews worked to fix the sinkhole.

The road was reopened late Monday afternoon. Details about what caused the sinkhole have not yet been released.
