Saint Louis holds off La Salle's late rally, wins 70-62

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Jordan Goodwin scored a career-high 28 points to lead Saint Louis to a 70-62 victory over La Salle on Saturday night.

Saint Louis (14-12, 7-6 Atlantic 10 Conference) has won four of its last five games while La Salle (10-15, 4-8) has lost three of four.

Goodwin, a freshman guard, was 7 of 14 from the field, made 13 of 16 free throws and grabbed nine rebounds. Hasahn French added 17 points, and Javon Bess chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds for Saint Louis.

B.J. Johnson had 23 points and Isiah Deas added 15 for La Salle. The duo also grabbed 10 rebounds apiece.

Goodwin scored 10 points during a 20-6 run and the Billikens led 60-47 with five minutes remaining. La Salle answered with a 13-4 spurt to pull to 64-60 with 1:40 left. Bess and Goodwin combined for 6-of-6 shooting from the line to seal it.
