SUNSET — One person is dead after a house fire in Sunset Friday night.

At about 8:17 p.m., crews responded to a two-alarm structure fire near 75 W. 2300 North where heavy smoke and flames were coming out of the front two windows of a home, according to Fire Chief Mark Becraft, with the North Davis Fire District.

After quickly putting out the blaze, firefighters went into the home to perform a search and found one adult victim had died inside.

Officials have not identified the victim and did not know the gender Friday night, Becraft said.

Several fire departments responded to the incident including Clinton Fire, Layton Fire, Riverdale Fire, Roy Fire and Hill Air Force Base Fire.

Damages are estimated to be at $200,000, Becraft said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
