UPDATE: The shooter was identified as Tyler Dalton, 18, according to Murray police. Officials identified him around 8:30 p.m.

MURRAY — A man was hospitalized in critical condition Monday after being shot in the face, police say.

The incident happened about 1:45 p.m. Monday in a Murray apartment at 154 W. 4350 South. Two men were in the apartment when one shot the other, said Murray police detective Kenny Bass.

Information about why the men were there, whether either of them lived there, how they knew each other or what they were arguing about wasn't immediately known.

After the shooting, the gunman tried to get away using TRAX, Bass said. But he was arrested in the south end of the valley by Unified police officers about 4:15 p.m.
