SALT LAKE CITY — Year after year, many folks have made resolutions to get more fit and healthy. But how do you keep your goals — not just this week or month, but throughout the year?
KSL caught up with Kristen Kenney, who has made a name for herself as the sideline reporter for the Utah Jazz, for some tips.
But even for this former Division-1 athlete, staying active while traveling with an NBA team gets tough.
"It's a long grueling season and I always ask myself, 'How do these guys do it? How do they find that balance?" Kenney said.
It's something so many of us have trouble with, especially when it comes to our resolutions. But while on the road, Kenney kept going back to a workout that she loved — the Lagree Fitness method.
"I wanted a workout that was going to be efficient and effective quickly, especially because we have busy lives," she said.
Kenney is such a fan of the high intensity, low impact, slow movement workout that she recently co-founded her own studio, Peak 45 in Salt Lake City. And while this might not be the right workout for everyone, Kenney said just finding something you love is key to staying healthy.
"A lot of people get burnt out. They set this routine. 'OK, here's my New Year's resolution,' and they go and go and go and maybe they get burnt out or stop seeing results or maybe it's not fun anymore," she said.
Whether a gym or a workout class, Kenney said make sure you find a positive environment, a place where you feel comfortable.
"You want to do something that's fun and you want to do it with people you enjoy doing it with and you don't want to be necessarily too intimidating too," she said.

Kenney also suggests making a plan to meet someone at your workout so you can hold each other accountable. She said two couples meet up at Peak 45 weekly, making it a healthy, double date night.
"You come in here and it's so fun and we're laughing together and taking pictures and just trying to get through the 45-minute session that's intense," Kenney said.
Fun music makes a difference too, and seeing results.
"I lifted weights forever. I had a personal trainer, I've worked out my whole life and I've never seen my body transform this quickly and this intensely than any other workout," Elicia Boothe from Centerville who attends classes at Peak 45.
Kenney hopes these tips help you keep your New Year's resolution as focused as Donovan Mitchell finding his way to the hoop.
