LAYTON — Eastbound Highway 193 between Fort Lane and Fairfield Road reopened after a crash seriously injured three females Thursday morning.

A westbound vehicle drifted across the median and into the eastbound lane, causing a head-on collision a little before 8 a.m., according to Layton Lt. Travis Lyman.
The driver of the westbound vehicle was a 17-year-old girl with a female passenger. Both were injured in the collision. The driver of the other vehicle was a 62-year-old woman.
The three victims were transported to local trauma centers with major but not life-threatening injuries, according to Lyman.
The road reopened around 9 a.m.

It is still unknown what caused the accident, but drugs, alcohol and speed are not considered to be factors at this time.
