TAYLORSVILLE — Police identified a man Monday who was killed in a shooting at an apartment complex Sunday morning, while a search for three people wanted in connection with the shooting continues.

Unified police said Toussaint Tyler, 30, of Taylorsville, was killed in the shooting. Police responded to a report of a shooting at the complex, located 4341 S. Riverboat Road, shortly after 10:10 a.m. When they arrived, they found Tyler shot. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries at the hospital.

Unified police detective Jared Richardson said Sunday the woman knocked on the door of a ground floor apartment while the two men waited around the corner. Once the apartment door was opened, the two men forced their way inside. The woman did not go inside the apartment, Richardson said.

Unified police tweeted Sunday evening that they are looking for a 1980s black Ford Mustang convertible. The car has red stripes going down the sides, paint flaking off with primer showing through, low-profile tires and gold rims.

One of the individuals is a short Hispanic man, about 30 years old, wearing a black shirt and black construction-style jeans, another was described as a tall black man, about 40 years old, wearing similar clothes. Police said the woman was wearing a black and red hoodie with light-colored pants.
