BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Jaylen Adams had 20 points and nine assists and Josh Ayeni scored 15 on 7-of-8 shooting to help St. Bonaventure beat Canisius 73-65 on Wednesday night.

Adams was 4-of-16 shooting, but hit three 3-pointers and made 9 of 10 from the free-throw line. LaDarien Griffin had 10 rebounds, two steals and two blocks to go with his six points for St. Bonaventure (6-2).

Adams assisted on a jumper by Amadi Ikpeze and then hit a 3-pointer to make it 7-3 and St. Bonaventure led the rest of the way. Canisius trimmed its deficit to one point early in the second half, but the Golden Griffins went more than 4½ minutes without making a field goal and the Bonnies used a 12-1 run to push their lead to 55-43 when Adams hit a 3 with 13:28 to play. Jermaine Crumpton hit two free throws to pull Canisius to 67-63 with three minutes remaining, but St. Bonaventure made 6-of-6 free throws from there to seal it.

Isaiah Reese tied a career best with five 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 31 points for Canisius (4-5).
