CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — K.J. Maura scored 21 points with seven assists and six rebounds and led six players in double-figure scoring as Maryland-Baltimore County beat The Citadel 98-72 on Saturday afternoon.

Joe Sherburne added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Retrievers (5-4). Arkel Lamar had 15 points and nine rebounds, Brandon Horvath had 15 points and seven rebounds, Josh Rosario had 13 points and four assists and Max Curran chipped in 11 points and nine rebounds.

Maura, Sherburne and Lamar combined for four 3-pointers to get UMBC off to a 14-4 start, and Maura sank three more from distance in the half to help build a 44-31 lead at the break.

The Citadel cut it to 48-42 early in the second half but couldn't get closer as Rosario hit three 3s midway to help push it to 72-53 with 9:15 to play and the Retrievers cruised from there.

Kaelon Harris led the Bulldogs (3-5) with 18 points off the bench.
