RIVERDALE, Weber County — Officials in Riverdale say they're trying to determine the cause of a slow-moving landslide that's forced the evacuation of three homes.
Riverdale Fire Chief Jared Sholly said at a Wednesday news conference that the slide near 4850 South and 600 West that began Nov. 19 is now about 100 feet across and 300 feet long.
City administrator Rodger Worthen says the landslide is progressing, but it's unclear what caused the hillside behind homes to give away. Worthen says city officials have tested water lines for leaks but noted that natural springs in the area could be a factor.
Officials have issue a no-trespassing order around the three evacuated homes, the Standard-Examiner reports.
