HERRIMAN — One person is in critical condition after a rollover crash near Herriman, police said.
The crash took place at about 9 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Mountain View Corridor and Rosecrest Road (14000 South).
A white truck and a green truck were involved in the crash, according to Unified Police. Allen Shane Carmickle, the 24-year-old driver of the green truck, was ejected and was transported to a hospital in critical condition. There were no other injuries.
The green truck was heading south on Mountain View Highway when the driver ran a red light at the Rosecrest Road Intersection, Unified Police Lt. Brian Lohrke said.
The white truck was headed east on Rosecrest and hit the back of the green truck. The green truck then spun and tumbled into a nearby field, Lohrke said.
It appeared that Carmickle was not wearing a seatbelt, Lohrke said.
The female passenger of the green truck also was taken to a hospital but was not injured.
The green truck had been stolen from South Salt Lake on Friday, Lohrke said. Police said Carmickle would be investigated in connection with the vehicle theft.
The crash scene had been cleared by 11 a.m., according to police.
