BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON — Unified police were searching around Dog Lake on Thursday evening after they got a report of possible human remains nearby.

Police could not determine if there were human bones near the lake. They called off the search at about 9:15 p.m. because it was too dark and not safe.

The search was set to resume in the morning.

Dog Lake is about 12 miles east of the Salt Lake Valley in Big Cottonwood Canyon.
