If lawn signs could vote, it appears Barack Obama would win Utah hands down.
Driving around the Avenues this morning, Obama yard signs outnumber McCain's almost two to one. In fact, state party officials say 7,500 Obama signs have been given out, compared to 3,000 for McCain. The signs are available at party headquarters for a donation.
Utah Democratic Party Chair Wayne Holland recently told KSL there is definitely a buzz about Obama in Utah. "It's exciting. People of Utah should enjoy this. We haven't seen this in a generation," he said.
But political analysts say lawn signs don't vote. They say Republicans may not be displaying McCain signs right now, but McCain will most likely win Utah on Election Day.
Todd Weiler, vice chairman of the Utah Republican Party, told the Salt Lake Tribune the number of McCain yard signs sold is evidence that the state's voters took time to grieve for Mitt Romney.
