SALT LAKE CITY — Three Republicans running for Utah's 3rd Congressional District seat — left vacant by Jason Chaffetz in late June — squared off in a debate on KSL Newsradio Monday morning.
Candidates in the Aug. 15 Republican primary are Provo Mayor John Curtis, former state lawmaker Chris Herrod and Alpine lawyer Tanner Ainge.
KSL Newsradio's Doug Wright moderated questions asked by listeners, which ranged from health care to taxes.

Polls have shown Ainge and Herrod trailing Curtis. Gov. Gary Herbert has endorsed Curtis, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz campaigned for Herrod in Lehi last month, and former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin endorsed Ainge on Thursday.
The winner of the primary will face Democrat Kathie Allen, a physician, in a special election in November.
