(KSL News) -- A new stop on the Trax line opened today in Sandy.
The Sandy Expo Station officially opened at 9400 south. It currently serves the South Towne Expo Center, Jordan Commons and surrounding areas. Eventually it will also serve the planned Real Salt Lake stadium.
Unlike other TRAX stops, the Sandy Expo Station will be a destination station, meaning it will have a drop off area rather than a park and ride lot.
Community officials hope the stop will reduce traffic and parking problems in the area.
