OREM, Utah (AP) -- A Provo teen could soon be facing legal troubles after police say he crashed his SUV while driving on fumes.

It happened on Wednesday on 800 East near 1100 North in Orem.

Officers say the 18-year-old man had been inhaling computer cleaning chemicals when he passed out. They say the S-U-V then drifted off the side of the road and ran over a fire hydrant, a telephone junction box and several mailboxes. Police say the driver then veered back onto the road and across oncoming traffic and into a rail fence.

The man was arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of driving under the influence, reckless driving and abuse of psycho-toxic chemicals.
