HUNTSVILLE, Utah (AP) — A new sign at Windsurfer Beach in Utah is warning residents that parking in paved lots around Pineview Reservoir will no longer be free.

The Standard-Examiner reported Tuesday that the sign reads "vehicle parking fee coming soon."

Weber County Commission Chairman James Ebert says the fees are part of a plan to enhance amenities around Pineview and make recreating there a better experience.

Ebert says the county and U.S. Forest Service are also considering restricting all parking along the roadway around Pineview because it creates a pedestrian hazard and infringes on space needed for travel.

Sean Harwood, U.S. Forest Service ranger, said the date fees will go into effect and prices have not been determined.

Harwood says fees will likely go toward an enterprise fund to reinvest into additional parking, better restrooms and other amenities.
