(KSL News) Two Utah sisters are recovering from the same operation on the same day for the same problem.
Barbara Guzman and Shauna Linde had total knee replacement surgeries one right after the other on Tuesday to treat their osteoarthritis.
They say it felt better going into it together.
Barbara said, "It's just always nice to have somebody that you love doing the exact same thing that you're doing."
Doctors say osteoarthritis can be influenced by genetics, and the problems the sisters had with their knees were identical.
Dr. Kim Bertin of LDS Hospital said, "The way they were worn out, the sizes that we used, it was just like putting them on a Xerox copy machine and doing the operation a second time."
Both women are expected to make a full recovery. They say they're already planning a trip to Europe in a couple of years.
