TAYLORSVILLE — Police arrested a woman Sunday night who was accused of robbing six banks within 24 hours in the Salt Lake Valley Saturday.

Nannette Louise Perkins, 40, was arrested on suspicion of robbery after police received a tip and arrested Perkins in her Taylorsville home.

Perkins was arrested in connection with robberies in West Valley City, Salt Lake City, Holladay and Sandy. She is being held in the Salt Lake County Jail in connection with several counts of second-degree felony robbery.

Police said Perkins robbed the first bank around 1:15 p.m. Friday after slipping a bank teller a note demanding money at the Chase Bank at 3430 S. Redwood in West Valley City. She then attempted to rob a Salt Lake Chase Bank at 1295 S. Redwood Rd. the following Saturday morning, though she left before receiving any money.

Perkins then robbed four more banks Saturday within an hour and a half, including Wells Fargo, 4711 Highland Dr., Holladay; University Federal Credit Union, 7220 Highland Dr., Cottonwood Heights; Wells Fargo, 9311 S. Highland Dr., Sandy and Deseret First Credit Union, 9325 S. Village Shop Dr., Sandy, according to police.

Police have not specified how much money they believe Perkins stole.

Perkins did not cover her face when she entered the banks, police said, so the surveillance video released to the public gave a clear view of her face, causing one tipster to call in.

"She matched the description to a T," Unified Police Lt. Lohrke said. "We made the arrest, wrote a search warrant for the apartment, in which evidence of the crime was recovered."

The case is being investigated by joint members of the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force.

According to court records, Perkins pleaded guilty to retail theft, a third-degree felony, in June 2013 and two counts of attempted unlawful possession of a financial card in March 2013, reduced from a felony to a class A misdemeanor.

In January 2013 she admitted to criminal mischief, a class B misdemeanor; plus theft and unlawful possession of a financial transaction card, third-degree felonies.

She also pleaded guilty in August 2010 to theft by deception, amended from a felony to a class A misdemeanor.

More information will be released as it is received.
